Carpal Tunnel Syndrome recurrence after surgery release:
A 45 years old lady was referred to our neurophysiology department with history of both hand numbness, pain, grasp weakness which worsen during daily activity and night.
She was diagnosed with CTS 10 years ago, surgery intervention was done in right hand palm. Her symptoms were relieved for 1.5 year and again she is suffering from the same symptoms.
We performed NCS test for her, Bilateral median motor nerves were included in nerve Conduction study (Right side DL in Wrist 7.0 ms, DL in Elbow 11.6 uV Amp in Wrist 9.0 ms, Elbow 8.4 uV, and relatively low NCV 41.0 m/s, while in left side DL in Wrist 6.7 ms, Elbow DL 10.2 uV, Amp in wrist 8.8 uV, in elbow 8.2 uV with normal NCV of 55.2 m/s) and bilateral median sensory nerves findings were consist of (R median prolonged PL 5.3 ms, Amp 13.4 uV, and decreased NCV 24.1 m/s, L median prolonged PL=5.1 ms, Amp 17.2 uV and decreased NCV 25.1 m/s) with right ulnar motor and bilateral ulnar sensory nerves normal values.
